This past week has seen the death of two fine musicians from the SoCal area - first, "Robbie" Robinson, trombonist, pilot, and all around nice guy, who passed away on Nov. 23. I had the pleasure of working with Robbie on several occasions, and I enjoyed being with him - he was a great player and a real positive person. The second is Larry Giannecchini, a great guitarist and long time performer at Disneyland and all over the area. He died on Nov. 29 after battling cancer for several months. He was well versed in many styles of music and was a great guy as well. I will miss our conversations about music, especially about Ravel and other classical composers. So farewell, old friends - you are not forgotten.
